The main gate at Historic Fort Wayne today. The smaller entrance to the right of the main gate is the civilian entrance. The cannon and mortar mounted on top of the wall above the main gate were not located there while the fort was an active military garrison; they were added in later years for decorative purposes after the fort began to transition to a more civilian role.
